Pickfords Business Moving, the UK’s largest business moving and storage company, is continuing to expand its portfolio of higher education clients and has been appointed as an Approved Supplier by the University of the West of England (UWE) in Bristol, as part of their framework agreement.
Pickfords’ regional moving and storage centre in Bristol will be responsible for providing a full range of removal services for UWE’s four campuses and nine schools, as well as the university’s regional centres in Gloucestershire, Bath and Swindon.
The university requires services such as classroom relocation, office removals, secure movement of laboratory facilities and equipment, and porterage services for new students on an ongoing basis.
Pickfords’ managing director Kevin Pickford says: “Pickfords has a long track record of undertaking removals in the higher education sector, including schools, colleges and universities. So we understand the special issues faced by educational establishments.”
Mark Herrington, head of Pickfords Business Moving, Southern and Midlands Region, says: “The University of the West of England will be able to draw on our extensive experience in this sector, as well as taking advantage of our local resources and expertise in Bristol. We look forward to serving the University.”
Pickfords Business Moving’s impressive portfolio of university clients includes Oxford, Edinburgh, Southampton, Manchester, Birmingham, Sheffield, Newcastle, Cardiff, Loughborough, Nottingham, Queens University Belfast, and the London School of Economics, amongst others.
Pickfords recognises the importance of meeting key best practice standards in the higher education sector. The company recently became the first UK moving company to receive certification for all of the key international best practice standards for Quality (ISO 9000 and FIDI FAIM), Environmental Management (ISO 14001), and Health and Safety Management (BS OHSAS 18001).
