Pickfords keep on track to complete head
office fit-out

Lorclon Ltd is a national civil engineering and ground works organisation which includes rail and underground projects.

As part of their services they carry out tunnelling and underpinning works for substantial clients including London 2012 Olympic Park, Docklands Light Railway Station, London Underground and the DLR.

In 2009 Lorclon were looking to relocate their London head office to a new building in West Ealing, London. The building was located off Ealing Broadway with parking, storage capacity as well as adequate office space.

Proving our ability

Pickfords’ Interiors division were invited to a formal tender process by the project team at Lorclon in September 2009. This required the tenderers to provide associated costs for their new office head office in London.

Following a site survey and receiving the brief from the client we produced a detailed tender proposal including full specification and costs associated with our office design which included new windows, reception, offices, mechanical and electrical and security. Following the approval of proposal we were selected as preferred suppliers to Lorclon Ltd for their West Ealing project.

Specification and Programme

Following additional discussions and review of the layout design and specification, Interiors developed a comprehensive 6 week programme incorporating all aspects of the project including mechanical and electrical works including new main board, partitioning, joinery, decoration, new double glazed windows, security roller shutters, flooring, new staircase, internal and external doors, heating, blinds, relocation, external power and lighting, fire and security installations, final fix and handover.

Internal cellular offices as well as open plan work areas were created with new furniture including a new reception facility. The works were controlled and managed by Interiors in-house project management and design team throughout by a dedicated Interiors’ project manager who coordinated all trades, through commissioning stages, client liaison, snagging and sign off procedures.

Pickfords’ Interiors division delivered a cost effective office fit-out solution to Lorclon Ltd by utilising local resource and materials.
