What happens at destination?

When emigrating to Australia from the UK and Ireland, your Move Co-ordinator will forward your paperwork to the Allied Pickfords team in Australia. When your goods arrive at the port or airport,  Allied Pickfords in Australia will send you your customs forms and will help to arrange customs clearance and delivery to your new home.

Transit times when moving to Australia

When moving to Australia, household effects are secured in large metal containers and carried on container ships. Transit times are dependent on the type of services that have been chosen.

On arrival at Port in Australia, Customs and Quarantine may take between 10 to 20 working days to complete; this has been allowed in the overall door-to-door totals quoted.

Door to door   

Australian quarantine inspections

All shipments into Australia are subject to inspection by the Australian Quarantine Inspection Service (AQIS). AQIS are looking for items that may endanger the natural flora and fauna of Australia as well as disrupt its agricultural industry. If you have such items in your consignment your goods may be subject to fumigation, other treatment or destruction, for which there is an additional fee.
