Pickfords Business Moving expands into office and factory fit-out and refurbishment services

Pickfords Business Moving - the UK’s leading business moving and storage company - is continuing to expand its comprehensive range of business support services by launching a fit-out and refurbishment service for offices and industrial premises.

Pickfords will either serve as the principal contractor or handle all of the fit-out and refurbishment works itself – or it can oversee a client’s fit-out and refurbishment programme on a project management basis, and coordinate the activities of third-party contractors.

The new fit-out and refurbishment service will be tailored to meet the needs of organisations of all sizes – from SMEs to large manufacturers located in factory premises. It will be available from all of Pickfords’ 60 branch locations throughout the UK and managed through its specialist Transition Management division, 'Premis' .

The new  service will be headed by Stuart Thacker   the UK head of Premis Transition Management.

Refurbishment services available from Pickfords will include:

• specification tendering, space planning and design
• office partitions, glazing, blinds and doors
• ceilings, flooring and decoration
• voice and data installations
• electrical and mechanical alterations or installations
• dilapidation works, including redecoration and repairs
• supply and installation of office furniture – from a single chair to a full fit-out.

 

When project managing a refurbishment programme on a client’s behalf, Pickfords will also write the specification, produce designs, liaise with the landlord and building inspectors, and coordinate the tendering process with prospective third-party suppliers.   

Pickfords’ managing director Kevin Pickford says: “Adding refurbishment to our Business Moving portfolio is a natural progression for us strategically. For our clients, it means we can give them the flexibility they need in the current economic climate.”
