Pickfords Business Moving has evolved its initiative to help its customers meet their environmental and CSR targets, responsibilities and aspirations.
In February, Business Moving Director Mark Herrington announced an exclusive partnership with recycling company Go Green Reprocess Limited.
Working with Go Green, Pickfords will provide a recycling and asset reprocessing service, integrated at the time of an internal or external relocation.
Unwanted furniture and IT equipment can be catalogued, collected and segregated with a view to extending the life of those assets. Items are repaired and resold or donated to not- for-profit organisations, charities and local community groups across the UK. By ensuring these items are not trucked to landfill or shipped overseas, the process will reduce energy loss and carbon emissions.
End of life electronic and electrical equipment will be wiped clean of data in line with data protection and WEEE regulations and recycled and placed with local organisations. Any profits gained from re-using and recycling are returned back to Pickfords Business Moving’s clients.
Mark Herrington, Director of Pickfords Business Moving says “ This partnership provides our clients with a service that not only gains value from unwanted assets, but helps them to achieve their environmental aims. Go Green is an excellent partner for Pickfords because the company ethically reuses assets and importantly, places unwanted assets locally and does not ship the asset abroad – a process which wastes energy and increases carbon emissions’
Jan Lingard of Go Green says “We are looking forward to working closely with Pickfords Business Moving throughout the country. Pickfords’ determination to address environmental and sustainability best practice solutions for its clients’ unwanted assets, compliments the Go Green ethos, policies and service”.
