Defence and security group receive a comprehensive refurbishment service

Ultra Electronics is part of The Ultra Group. The company planned to integrate Polyflex Aerospace, a recently acquired company into an existing operation in Gloucester. The new accommodation required refurbishment and alterations including air conditioning, new partitioning and building works to achieve occupation to allow the movement of specialist equipment and staff into the new space.

Specification and Programme

Interiors assigned a team project manager and space planner to plan, design and manage the programme of works. Our Interiors’ Project Manager coordinated and chaired weekly progress meetings inviting client and trade representatives directly responsible for the completion of the project. Project activities were agreed, documented and responsibilities were assigned. Other areas of activity under Interiors control included new equipment delivery, co-ordination and installation, staff induction and responsibility for access and security. Our Space Planner surveyed the existing and proposed sites detailing all industrial machinery, services, storage areas, offices and rest areas. Our Space Planner produced a final detailed working drawing for the new facility including new partition walls, machinery, IT, telecommunications, air, water and electrical positioning for client approval.

Work patterns detailing asbestos removal, demolition, new partitioning, construction detail including flooring and ceiling installations and specification. Construction works were assigned to Interiors preferred suppliers, and we also co-ordinated a range of external UEPAS preferred sub-contractors to submit relevant costs and then when approved were integrated into the master fit-out programme.

The fit out and refurbishment services were controlled and managed by our onsite team throughout, working to the approved programme the project was completed on time and within the approved budget The fit-out and refurbishment works and the relocation project was a success with zero operational downtime.
