Energy

The use of energy at our sites and in our offices is being continually reviewed and appropriate procedures to reduce the use of electricity and other public utilities have been introduced.

Electricity

Pickfords has achieved a reduction in electricity usage by adopting a 'switch off before you go' policy.   A regular communication to employees working in the office encourages them to switch off monitors, docking stations, pcs and lights before they leave the office.    In areas of the building which do not require lighting all the time,  light sensors have been deployed to switch off lights when not in use.

Heating and gas

Pickfords has achieved a reduction in gas usage by closely monitoring daily temperature control,  switching radiators off or reducing the temperature and amending timer controls for automated warehouse heating.
