Glasgow: Operations Manager

Pickfords are looking for a dynamic individual who is passionate about customer service and who has a proven track record of taking ownership and going the extra mile to ensure ultimate customer satisfaction.

Job purpose:

To support the business in three key areas: Compliance, Service and Profitability. The Operations Manager will be responsible for the utilisation of a specific resource to ensure maximum efficiency; profitability and customer service is achieved through structured planning, monitoring and management of the daily operation. Ensuring full compliance to Operating Standards, including Health & Safety, Transport Legislation and Maintenance records.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist to achieve revenue and profit targets
  • Control costs by driving efficiencies
  • Control and manage compliance systems
  • Control and manage H & S systems
  • Day to day operational control
  • Manage, motivate and control staff
  • Liaise with sales team to ensure maximum utilisation and margin
  • Ensure superior service delivery to clients both external and internal
  • Ensure bookings are completed correctly and efficiently
  • Liaise with central administration team to ensure good communication and utilisation of fleet.

 

Skills, knowledge & experience:

Essential

  • Knowledge of Transport Legislation, Fleet and Maintenance controls
  • Customer Centric

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Problem solving skills
  • Managerial experience and leadership skills
  • Commercial awareness

Desirable

  • Removals Background.
  • Knowledge of company/legislative working agreements
  • PC literate, good knowledge of Word & Excel
  • Numeric and analytical skills
  • Good literacy skills
