What are the options for shipping furniture to <country-name>

If you are planning to move to <country-name>, there are a number of services to consider. Most people choose to move their furniture by sea, but some do consider sending some important items by airfreight.

Full Container Load (FCL)

Your furniture is packed at your home and loaded directly onto a 20ft or 40ft container and transported directly to the docks to await the next scheduled sailing. Pickfords will arrange to send the consignment to its trusted agent in <country-name> who will liaise with you to help arrange customs clearance and onward delivery to your new home. This method of shipping furniture is more direct than sharing a container.

Shared Load

Your furniture is packed at your home on an agreed date and transferred to our international warehouse for transport to your new home in <country-name>. Your move co-ordinator will confirm arrival dates and liaise with you for delivery and unpacking once your consignment of furniture has cleared customs.

This service is a more cost effective method of shipping furniture than an FCL service and is recommended if you can be flexible with your delivery dates, as you only pay for the space you use in the container.

If you have goods that need to be stored while moving to <country-name>, Pickfords provides a professional storage service either in the UK or at your destination.
