Self storage made easy 

Storage should be simple from the get go. That's why our process is designed to be clear, supportive and flexible, giving you confidence at every stage, from choosing your space to managing your storage over time. 

Whether you're storing for a short period or longer term, these steps show how easy it is to get started with Pickfords Self Storage. 

1. Decide what to store 
   Take time to plan what you want to put into storage. 
2. Choose the right unit 
   Pick a storage unit size that fits your items perfectly. Our team can help if you're unsure which size will work best. You can also visit your local Pickfords Self Store to view the units we have available. 
3. Book your unit 
   Once you've chosen, you can reserve your storage unit and make your initial payment securely. 
4. Pack your belongings 
   Use our in-store eco box shop to purchase supplies and prepare your items for storage. 
5. Move in 
   Bring your items to your unit on move-in day. If you have opted for a collection service, we will arrive on the day to pick up your belongings. 
6. Store 
   Your belongings will be kept secure for the duration of your storage contract. 
7. Access when you need it 
   Visit your storage unit during opening hours to retrieve or add items to your unit. 
8. Move out when ready 
   When you no longer need storage, simply vacate your unit. 
   

Things to remember

To get you set up quickly, please bring the following when you arrive at your local Pickfords Self Storage facility: 

• Photo ID 
  Passport, UK photocard driving license, EU photo ID card or NUS card
• Proof of address 
  A bank statement or utility bill dates within the last three months. 
• Payment method 
  A debit or credit card for your initial payment. Please note that cash is not accepted in store. 
• Bank details
  Required to set up your ongoing storage direct access. 
• Student ID
  To claim our 10% off student discount, you will need to provide your current, valid student ID card. 
• Blue Light Card 
  We also offer discounts for Blue Light Card holders. Identification will be needed to authorise the discount.
