From the start of the relocation, our experienced consultant conducts a comprehensive needs assessment to understand the specific schooling requirements of each child. This includes a general overview of the host country's education system - whether public, private or international, and advice on how it compares to the home country system. 

Where required, we also provide information on nurseries, childcare providers and nanny services to support younger children. Once the family's needs are established, the consultant outlines suitable school options and arranges appointments for visits to shortlisted institutions. 

Accompanied visits and admissions support 

To help families feel confident and supported, our consultants accompany them on school visits, make introductions to admissions staff and explain the application process clearly. We continue to support the family through each stage of the admissions cycle, providing regular guidance and practical assistance to ensure all documentation and interviews are well managed. 

Education system insight 

As part of our relocation services, we also offer an education advisory programme designed to familiarise families with the education landscape at destination. This includes an explanation of how local schools operate, cultural considerations, admission requirements and the types of educational support available. A full intake interview is conducted with parents to allow for detailed discussion of each child's background, preferences and prioritise.

Comprehensive school placement service

Our full school placement service provides families with end-to-end education consultancy, including candidacy assessment, coordination with schools and hands-on support through the application process. Consultants evaluate academic suitability using parent feedback, school reports and entrance testing where applicable. They liaise directly with admissions offices to determine space availability, manage documentation and advocate for each student. 

We also prepare families for school visits and interviews, offering guidance and even mock interview sessions where necessary.

Once placements are offered, we support decision-making and maintain contact through the first month of school to help students and families settle in. 

Special educational needs support 

Pickfords Relocation also offers a tailored programme for families with children who have special educational needs. This service supports students requiring specialised assistance or learning support, ensuring they are placed in appropriate educational setting that meets their individual needs.
