A summary of global salary and threshold updates for 2026
Albania:
The national minimum wage has been increased to ALL 50,000 gross per month, up from ALL 40,000, effective January 2026.
Austria:
All the following changes are effective 1st January 2026.
- Red – White – Red Card: EUR 3,465, up from EUR 3,225 gross per month, unless the minimum salary requires a higher amount in a collective bargaining agreement.
- EU Blue Card: EUR 55,678 gross per year, unless the minimum salary requires a higher amount in a collective bargaining agreement.
- Super key employee: EUR 8,316, up from EUR 7,740 gross per month
- LSD-BG (Austrian Wage and Social Dumping Combating Act) exemption: EUR 8,316, up from EUR 7,740 gross per month
Belarus:
The following changes are effective 1st January:
- Highly qualified employees: BYN 4,290, up from BYN 3,630 per month
- Other applicants: BYN 2,250, up from BYN 2,100 per month
Wallonia:
- Executives: From EUR 86,110 to EUR 88,790
- Highly Skilled: From EUR 53,220 to EUR 51,613
- Employees under 30 years of age: From EUR 41,290 to EUR 42,576
- General: From EUR 66,738 to EUR 68,815
- Recent graduates: From EUR 53,390 to EUR 55,052
EUR Intra-Company Transfer Permit:
- Managers: From EUR 66,738 to EUR 68,815
- Specialists: From EUR 55,053 to EUR 53,390
- Trainees: From EUR 34,408 to EUR 33,370
Bulgaria:
Bulgaria has adopted EUR effective 1st January 2026 and the national minimum wage has increased from BGN 1,077 to EUR 620.20
Colombia:
Minimum wage in Colombia has increased to COP 1,750,905 per month, which is a 23% increase from the 2025 minimum wage.
Croatia:
The minimum wage has been increased from EUR 970 to EUR 1,050, effective 1st January.
Cyprus:
The following changes were made effective 1st January 2026 for Cypriot or EU nationals:
- EUR 1,088 gross per month for employees that have been with their employers for at least 6 months from EUR 900
- EUR 979 gross per month for employees that have been with their employers for less than 6 months
Czech Republic:
Effective January 1, 2026 the minimum salary for the employee card and work permit/employee card has been increased to CZK 22,400 from CZK 20,800 and to CZK 27,328 from CZK 25,376 for the qualified employee migration programme.
Denmark:
The minimum salary threshold effective 1st January 2026 are DKK 552,000 per year for pay limit scheme applications and DKK 446,000 per year for supplementary pay limit scheme applications.
Finland:
Effective 1st January the minimum salary for specialist permits and blue cards are EUR 3,937 gross per month, up from EUR 3,827.
