Pickfords has introduced a new history blog on its website in February
The blog has been written by Pickfords history expert Ashley Jones, with the aim to explore interesting stories and events in Pickfords’ 400 year history as one of the oldest and best known removals and storage companies.
The blog burst into life with the colourful story of Jumbo the elephant in the 1880s. Pickfords was asked to move Jumbo from London Zoo to America as part of the sale of the animal to PT Barnum the legendary circus entertainer.
The blog will be updated each month with further interesting facts, stories, people and photographs from the Pickfords archive.
