To ensure the process of moving into their homes is as easy as possible, Anchor Hanover offers its new residents a specialist relocation and downsizing service to help relieve the stress of moving home.
To facilitate this service, Anchor Hanover required a national removals firm to provide a range of services to meet its mission to treat each client as an individual.
Challenges
Pickfords prefers to conduct Surveys for the relocations on-site, but the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus has meant that Pickfords had to review its processes to keep the residents safe.
Pickfords adapted quickly and has utilised video surveying technology to conduct all surveys. This method of survey is designed to reduce the risk of Covid-19 transmission that does not require the move surveyor to be in the home.

Pickfords provides a full relocation service, to all of Anchor Hanover’s community properties across the country. These services are designed specifically for older people and their families, and support them at every stage to ensure that the move is as smooth as possible.
Providing a single point of contact means that no matter where in the country the move is happening, it is managed directly by a dedicated team offering a bespoke relocation service.
Pickfords provides dedicated Senior Move Managers to support Anchor Hanover’s Property Managers. Each of these Senior Move Managers understand that relocating a new resident from a home that they have lived in for a long time can feel like an enormous upheaval.
‘Rightsizing’ services are designed to support the residents to move the right furniture into what is often a smaller space. ‘Rightsizing’ includes furniture clearance and recycling services.
This environmentally friendly house clearance service utilises Pickfords’ network of local charities and community groups. A large amount of furniture no longer required by the residents has already been accepted by this network.
